Saving a web page

Web pages can be viewed on the Internet, an Intranet or Extranet. The simplicity of the HTML code means that web pages are cross platform compatible and the same page can be viewed on PC, Apple Macs and UNIX systems. This creates a common publishing standard which facilitates the sharing of information with all users of the Internet.

It is possible to save individual web pages to a hard disk or floppy disk. This is done by opening a page in the browser and then selecting the Save As File... command from the File menu like the example shown on the right.

This command will only save the HTML file and will not save any graphics associated with the page. This has to be done separately by right clicking the mouse on each graphic and selecting Save Picture as….
