Comments from Standard Seven on their visit to Modumela for the Building Balanced Lives Programme with Rod Capon

Angelique - Out of all the activities we did I enjoyed the Bounty task the most, and then the nice warm lovely campfire. I liked some of the morning runs and the morning walk in the river.

Bobby - Although it was quite a short trip I really enjoyed the time we had with you especially the bounty, assault course, tug of war, the walk/soccer game, lovable drum, ammo box, four square. I also enjoyed it when we had to track you down by following peanuts. I quite enjoyed the speeches and the time we had at the camp fire. The tents were really nice - the three group leaders were really cool. I wish I was still there now!

Kabelo - I really enjoyed the loveable drum because most of the time we were working as a group, the walk, the soccer game, the campfire time and the three group leaders, but really I enjoyed the soccer game and the campfire time the best of all.

Candice - Thank you, Mr.Capon, for organizing the character camp - it was a great time and I loved learning about positive and negative thinking.
I really liked that game four square it was great, even if I was not always king!

Cole - Thank you for the best three days I have ever had, I just wish that it could have been longer. The trip to Modumela Lodge should have been at least a week long! My favourite activities were Lovable Drum, (it was a load of fun but it was back breaking), and Bounty - lots of fun but not cool, FREEZING, the water was cold but I still liked it mainly because of the end when we got to eat, my favourite hobby. The Assault Courses were great especially the one with the pole between two trees, the other two were excellent too. I loved playing soccer in the river except for the fact that I got into the cruiser to go back to camp looking like an over ripe tomato, from bruises and ball blasts. I also liked the song night by the fire I have still got Rattling Bog, The Shark Song and Sucking Cider Through a Straw stuck
in my head.

Keith - I think the camp was a great success. Before I hardly trusted other people. My favourite exercise was lovable drum even though people do not agree and Bobby and me had to do all the work for our team. It was physically challenging. I also enjoyed the walk and afterwards the kamikaze soccer game with me nearly killing myself with "Mr. Cruiser driver's" shot at me.

Lloyd - Thank you very much for the whole course I really enjoyed it. Everything I did on the tasks was a challenge and I really love a challenge both physically and mentally, and the tasks that you laid out for us did both of those. And thank you for coming all this way from Willow Park just to teach a few of us kids, and I really feel, we all feel that you really taught us something.

Katie - I really enjoyed the tasks and the one I enjoyed most was the walk and the soccer in the river. The way back was fun with all the singing and the shouting!

Ludo - Thanks a million for coming all the way from Zimbabwe to Modumela Lodge just to come and try to help us choose the right path to follow in life.
You may never believe this but I enjoyed everything that was on the programme that we did but there was a specific one that kept my heart thumping against my chest; it was the Lovable drum.

Mbakiso - The finest and greatest gift ever given by God is His Love and the gift of Life. Well I am certainly enjoying mine. I'd like to thank you for helping me open my eyes and see the beauty of it and helping me realise how much God cares for us. I really appreciate it. All the activity there was fun and I enjoyed it all but I had some favourites. One of them was Lovable drum. Most people said it was the "hardest" but to me it was just one of those challenges. I really enjoyed the soccer game and I had great fun (except the side effects of it afterwards. The aching muscles etc…) I also got embarrassed a little. After scoring two goals and going for the lucky third goal we were supposed to change sides. Unfortunately for me I did not hear that so I had the ball. I dribbled my own goalkeeper and scored at my own goals without realising it and I had to face the embarrassment of having to face the fact hat I had just scored a goal for the other team!

Melissa - I really enjoyed the talks a lot because they were all very interesting and showed us the other side of the long road which we would travel on with our wheel barrows. I also the enjoyed the soccer game because it gave our bodies the exercise they need!

Seyi - Although I moaned too much I enjoyed the morning training, and the soccer game was enjoyable except for the fact that I was falling all the time, and not to mention the food. Oh! It was divine.
