Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
What is ACCA?
The ACCA qualification is known and respected throughout the world. It is the largest
internationalaccountancy examining body in the world with ove 185 000 students currently
studying. In Botswana, like in many other countries, ACCA conducts its examination under
a Joint Scheme with the local professional body, the Botswana Institute of Accountant (BIA).
Students who satisfy certain work experience requirements can then join the ACCA and the BIA
as fully qualified professional members.
ACCA examination syllabus is structured around three levels:
- Part 1 (Paper 1.3)
- Part 2 (Papers 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5 and 2.6)
- Part 3 (Optional) (Any two of papers 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4)
- Part 3 (Core) (Papers 3.5, 3.6 and 3.7)
All students enrolled at BAC are exempt from, at least, papers 1.1 and 1.2 at Part 1 by virtue
of posessing an accounting qualification (e.g. AAT, BAcc degree).
