ADA was established and registered as an independent firm in Botswana in February 1989. The company is wholly owned and based in Botswana with a branch office in Cape Town, South Africa and consequently is committed to development projects within the country and Southern Africa as a region. ADA is registered with the Botswana Government Central Tender Board for the provision of civil and structural consulting engineering services. ADA currently has five registered professional civil and structural engineers and various support staff. Structural Engineering ADA has extensive experience in a variety of structures varying from unusual domestic buildings through to large commercial and industrial projects. These projects include the design and supervision of cluster housing schemes, industrial factories and buildings, commercial developments and alterations and additions to existing structures. Civil Engineering ADA offers a comprehensive and coordinated service for multi-disciplinary projects in the professional civil engineering sector. Experience includes the design and supervision of projects incorporating all aspects of urban and rural infrastructure (roads, stromwater, water and sewerage reticulation), hydrology, water resources studies, irrigation schemes, reservoirs, canals, pipelines, pumping schemes and soil/water erosion and pollution control. Project Management ADA is appointed from time to time as the principal agent on projects in both the building and civil engineering sectors that require multi-professional input. In the civil engineering sector this role is normal in terms of commonly used Forms of Agreement. However, in the building, and particularly the industrial building market, the company is frequently requested to undertake the principal agent role. Such arrangements are structured in terms of standard Forms of Agreement and in certain cases, can effect significant cost savings. Company Philosophy The company aims to remain a small business offering cost effective solutions to selected clients. We value the quality of the personnel that work for the practice as the most important attribute and asset to the business. We have undertaken over five hundred projects since inception nine years ago. All these projects have been in Botswana and fully staffed branch offices have been run in Francistown and Maun.
