Member firms will be able to develop their own home pages with links to the ACEB web site. The ACEB site also has links to the FIDIC web site and to web sites of other engineering organisations world wide. As a member of FIDIC the Association is committed to establishing and maintaining the objects of our association and to developing a clearer image of the role to be played in our community by the independent consulting engineer. The Association's members have a long history of professional achievement in Botswana. A wide range of engineering disciplines is available within our community and member of ACEB have made a significant contribution to the country's development. The appointment of a consulting engineer is crucial to the success of a project and it is therefore important that selection procedures are equitable to consultant and client alike and similarly that adjudication processes enable the client to select the most appropriate consulting engineer. Since its official launch in 1994 the Association has worked hard at increasing its profile within the community and these efforts were in no small measure assisted by the well attended and successful ACEB Engineering and Construction Claims Seminar held in Gaborone in November 1998. There is still much work to be done however and it is hoped that this website will in some small measure further enhance the general profile of the Association and its members as well as providing a useful guide to member firms and the services they offer.
