Head Teacher. Rehana has
previously taught Biology for twenty-three years at Maru-A-Pula. She is
passionate about Science Education, Mosquitoes, Botswana and her family.
Rehana discovered a new species of Mosquito in Kasane which she named after
Sir Seretse Khama. Rehana is a keen cook and gardener who loves cultivating
roses. |

has taught Chemistry and Junior Science for five years. He is passionate

Occupational Therapist. Liz has introduced gross-motor and
co-ordination programmes for the pupils in Reception and Std 1. She enjoys
her involvement with the 'Weavers' House and is their Number One
supporter. Liz has introduced Cookery and Fit For Life as extra-murals.

Standard Three Teacher. Jill
moved to Botswana from London where she taught for the last ten years,
spending her holidays traveling. Jill has also taught in South Africa. She
enjoys reading, cooking and traveling.

French Teacher. Sourayya is
from Mauritius. She enjoys traveling and loves the beach and eating
seafood. She would like to visit Italy, Morocco and Vietnam.

Standard Five Teacher. Peter
was schooled in Zimbabwe and has taught in Botswana for 10 years. He is an
active sportsman who enjoys the outdoors, fishing and camping. Peter has
done copy hoping and enjoys breakfast runs on a motorbike.

Standard Five Teacher. Margaret teaches Mathematics to Std 5, 6 and 7.
Margaret enjoys running, swimming and cycling and hopes to complete a
triathlon.

Standard Four
Teacher. Kate loves animals and is an outdoor person who enjoys traveling, camping and
walking. Kate is a family orientated person who also enjoys scuba
diving and squash. "Do it while you can". |

Music Teacher. Verity studied piano,
trombone and voice. She has taught in Taiwan, South Africa and England as
was a guest musician at music schools and camps in the USA and
Switzerland. Verity has directed an adult choir for 8 years and played in
a brass ensembles for 15 years.

Mrs Celitia Melamu

Setswana Teacher and "keeper of stationery stock". Neo is a netball and
softball coach and is very involved in Traditional Dancing. Neo sings in
the Gaborone Choral Choir and has visited New York in this capacity. She
also enjoys counseling and helping needy people.

Design and
Technology Teacher. 'Mike Vencat' is originally from Mauritius and has
taught there and in the Seychelles. He has worked for the Ministry of
Education in the Seychelles and in Botswana developing syllabi, guidelines
for testing and training teachers in Design and Technology. Mike is married,
with two children and enjoys cooking, woodwork and graphic design.

Teacher. Celitia loves socialising with people of different callings,
singing, cooking and reading. She has been a judge for several years for
the BITF and is involved in a lot of Cultural Affairs. |

Two
Teacher. Sue’s interests include conservation, reading, playing tennis,
hiking, working out at the gym and spending time with her family. “To take
a hand, open a mind and touch a heart.”

Special Needs
Teacher. Gail originally hails from Zimbabwe and enjoys
travelling, reading, meeting people and finding out about their cultures.
Her greatest desire is to return to her roots in Saint Helena. Gail is
passionate about children and their quirks. |

Standard Three Teacher. Wilma
was born in South Africa and taught there for 16 years. She taught in the UK
for a year and is happy to be 'home'. She has found all the staff at
Broadhurst welcoming and kind and the children well-mannered. Wilma has two
children and enjoys gardening and cooking.

Belinda has a wonderful family
who are very important to her. She is passionate about art, reading,
home decor and her dream is to travel to America to spend time with her
sister. |

Vivienne is originally from Zambia. She has taught in Zambia and Botswana
for several years. Vivienne enjoys reading thriller novels and listening
to music. She occasionally writes short stories and poetry and keeps fit
by doing aerobics.

Reception Teacher. Angie was born and grew up in Zimbabwe and
studied at Rhodes. She enjoys reading, cooking, watching movies and
pottering in the garden. Angies's dream is to travel around the world and
visit places like the Great Wall of China, The Pyramids, Niagara Falls,
The Statue of Liberty and The Leaning Tower of Pisa. |

Teacher. Tanya was raised in Botswana but has traveled the World and the 7
Seas. She has a passion for languages and teaching. Tanya has taught in
Brazil and South Africa and has also worked in the film industry. She
believes in only looking forward and never backwards

Standard Seven
Teacher. West is a Motswana who is married to Sikhangezile. West and
Sikhangezile have three children, Nomagugu, Thembelihle and Dumisani. West
enjoys reading, travelling and listening to music. He has also specialised
in teaching the hearing impared. |

Standard One Teacher. Myrtle
qualified in Zimbabwe. Myrtle believes that developing herself is important
and she embarks on challenges that allow her to do so. Myrtle is a singer
and enjoys the stage life.

Teacher. Nomathemba has taught English for many years. He is passionate
about drama and has co-produced, among others, an adaptation of
Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice. Nomathemba also enjoys Athletics and
Public Speaking. He is married with two daughters. |

Reception Teacher. Sue
is originally from the UK. She has
also taught in International Schools in Nassau, the Bahamas and the Canary
Islands. Sue's passion is that of empowering the rural communities to assist
their children infected or affected by HIV/AIDS, through the Games for Life Programme and through establishing child-centred Daycare and
Lifeskills Centres. Sue loves cooking, reading and listening to music in her
spare time.

Setswana Teacher. Christine has experience as a
Standard Five class teacher as well as a Setswana teacher. She is able to
coach netball and softball (having previously coached the Southern Schools'
Softball team) and loves sports and culture.

Librarian. Rebecca
obtained a PhD in Library and Information Studies from the University of
Botswana. She also has a Bachelor's Degree in Portuguese. Dr Adekanmbi
taught at the All Saints Church School, in Nigeria as well as the Tlokweng
Education Centre. She has also been involved at a consultancy level and has
over 20 years experience as a professional Librarian. Rebecca is happily
married, with four daughters.

Social Studies and Standard Seven Teacher. Barbara
teaches Science to Std 5, 6 and 7. She is married with three children. Her family are very important to her as is
teaching and education. Barbara is an avid netball fan and a qualified
umpire and coach.

treats and cooking for friends and family. Kurshida loves spending time at
coffee shops, socialising with friends and families. |

and Std 6 Teacher. Maria originally hails from Zimbabwe. She has taught at
Al-Nur and Thornhill and is very happy to now join the Broadhurst family.
Maria is confident that she will spend many happy years at Broadhurst. She
is married to Larry and they have two daughters, Laken and Laurel. She loves
traveling but absolutely loves shopping!
