Masters programmes under SACCAR
The Southern African Center for Co-operation in Agricultural and Natural Resources Research and Training (SACCAR) invites applications for admission into the Msc degree programme in Land and Water Management, at Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania. The Msc programme lasts for two academic years: the first year is devoted to course work and the second to research and thesis preparation.
Admission requirements
Admission into the programme normally requires a minimum of a second class (lower division)/credit Bachelors degree or its equivalent.
The programme
The objective of the programme is to provide students with advanced knowledge and principles in Irrigation Engineering and Land Use Planning. The programme offers two areas of specialisation; Irrigation and Land Use Planning (LUP). The Irrigation option covers a wide range of topics related to irrigation engineering while Remote Sensing for digital processing of satellite data and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) are accorded emphasis in the LUP option. Students with a background in agricultural or civil engineering, soil science, forestry, hydrology, range management, physical geography or environmental science are eligible to apply.
