What is the IDCS in Computer Studies?
This is a one-year course that provides a foundation in Information
Technlogy. During 1100 hours of study time students are prepared for
practical work in computing and information proessing.
The objectives of the course are to:
- deliver well trained people with effective and practical business
oriented IT skills capable or making a real conribution in the work place;
- give students the opportunity to specialise in particular technical and
business options through the use of electives;
- establish an international standard of high quality training to
universally recognised qualifications
Course Requirements
Applicants for the NCC International Ordinary Diploma in Computer Studies
normally will either...
(i) have passed
the O’ levels or A’ levels with at least a second division and at least
grade
B in English and Maths;
or (ii) have successfully completed
a certificate level course in computer studies;
or (iii) have relevant work experience
in the computing industry.
Note: all successful applicants are required to sit an aptitude test
and attend an interview.
All applicants must submit a completed application form indicating
an employer or other sponsor
who has agreed to be responsible for the payment of course fees.
IDCS Structure
The IDCS qualification consists of eight taught modules (i.e. four externally examined and four
internally examined) and four projects.

| These are a part of every internally examined module |
All students are expected to study the electives JAVA, Programming methods and Developing a Website
but would study only one of E-Commerce and A+ to make a total of four electives.
